Conveyancing Continues…

Recent news coverage states that people can’t move house at the moment – mentioning estate agents and banks, however they failed to mention the important work of conveyancers covering the legal side of house selling and buying. At Grahame Stowe Bateson the message to our clients, current and future is that although we don’t know when you will be able to move, we can prepare much of the legal work so we are ready to go once the Covid-19 restrictions are over. Currently, the news is focusing on estate agents. We aim to continue to deal with the legal process, acting for those still wanting to purchase/sell. This will ultimately assist the housing market. In line with Government guidelines, GSB would never expect anyone to do anything in breach of the social distancing rules however there is so much which can be being done in the background. Continuing to move forward on the legal front will ultimately contribute to keeping the housing market moving. In principle, the house purchase/sale would be subject to a survey and may involve situations where social distancing is required. For those who already have their surveys, we can be ready to exchange and complete simultaneously, if that is what a client wants to do, as soon as the restrictions are lifted. We are fully aware of the effect on everyone, but we want to reassure our clients that we will continue with their conveyancing requirements, subject to observing current restrictions.
