I joined Kingsley Napley in January 2010 as a partner and head of Public Law. I have nearly 15 years experience as a public lawyer and previously spent most of my career in central government, working at the Treasury Solicitor’s Department and at the Attorney General’s Office.
I decided to pursue my dream of running my own law firm
Recognised as a “leader in his field” in Chambers and Partners UK and Legal 500, my areas of expertise include:
Judicial review litigation
Human rights law
Public inquiries
Inquests
Information law – GDPR, PECR, FOI and EIRs
In my judicial review practice, I act for both claimants and defendants with cases arising out of criminal investigations – including challenges to search warrants and arrests - regulatory proceedings and all aspects of policy development and implementation. My experience includes taking cases in the European Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Justice.
I have very significant experience in acting for parties involved in public inquiries. Recent significant cases include acting for participants in the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, the Renewable Heat Incentives Inquiry and the Paterson Inquiry. I have equally deep experience in inquest work, recently acting for the sisters of PC Keith Palmer in the Westminster Bridge Inquest.
My data protection work ranges from compliance advice through to advising on responses to information security breaches and appeals against decisions of the ICO. Under the freedom of information regimes, I act both for organisations and individuals seeking to obtain information and public bodies when responding to requests.
To maximise the trust you place in me, I guarantee a streamlined process from the initial consultation to the resolution of the case. If required, I will also present you with a professional opinion regarding the validity of any documentation or claims. I'm here to empower you or your company in all your legal matters, so rest assured: you're hiring a professional who can fully support you and your best interests.
